Freedom checklist

Am I free from:

  • Comparison: Do I compare myself to others and create internal friction?
  • Symbolism: Do I judge things to be either bad or good? 
  • Attachment: Do I cling to outcomes, identities, or possessions for my sense of self-worth?
  • Expectation: Do I impose rigid expectations on myself or others, and suffer when reality differs?
  • Time pressure: Do I feel like I’m always running out of time or behind in life?
  • Obligation: Do I act out of guilt or “shoulds” rather than authentic choice?
  • Validation-seeking: Do I look to others to confirm my value or success?
  • Control: Do I try to control things or people outside of my influence?
  • Fear of judgment: Do I censor myself because I’m afraid of how I’ll be perceived?
  • Mental noise: Do I have difficulty resting in stillness without compulsive thought or distraction?
  • Past/future loops: Do I dwell on the past or worry about the future more than I inhabit the now?
